Hello readers!

Yesterday was Chemically Addicted Salon’s hair shoot and it turned out fantastic! The styling team did such a great job my mind was blown away with the creativity. I helped Alex set up the studio with some canvas walls and assisted with lights. The clothing, hair, and make-up for this shoot created such a fierce ambience, I loved it! I took some behind-the-scenes photos and thought I’d share with you all an intern’s perspective.

Monday was finally the first day I attended a photo shoot and it was for the Sad Mag comedy editorial! This specific shoot revolved around the various classic action hero poses. I’m talking about the traditional roof-top, wind-blowing stances that you would see out of Marvel comic books. These two comedians couldn’t have modelled better for it! 

I started by helping set up the studio. I attached colour gels to different soft boxes and then positioned lights to the right desired angle as Alex directed. This was my second time working with light stands - they were confusing at first, but as soon as I familiarized myself with the nobs I finally got the hang of it! The comedians arrived and after a few light tests we got to it. 

The team was exactly what I’d imagine them to be! Every single person worked to their highest capabilities to allow Alex to work his magic. This was such a fun shoot and I can’t wait to assist the next one!
