Spent some of yesterday in the studio working on my camera photo project (If you’re been buy the gallery recently you’ve probably seen some of the drafts hanging on the walls). I used to be shooting them against a dark background, but I’m testing out a white background now to see what its like. In any case, while shooting I over exposed a shot of one of my favorite cameras and, though its not how I want the final show to look, the one shot looks pretty neat.
I’ve started a new project. I really want to get in to more… I suppose Fine Art Portrait photography would be the best way to say it. In doing so I want to get away from digital and return to film. And awesome cameras. My dad, also a photographer, used to collect amazing cameras (the ones in the picture are only the tip of the ice berg) and lucky for me some of them still work and others… I can probably make work busing strobes in a pitch black room.
At this point the ideas are still in the testing stages as I gather the materials to see where I can go, but hopefully some time soon Vancouver Portrait Photography will have a whole new meaning.
Got a few excellent shoots coming up! This Friday Beckiy and I are back in the studio doing more Pin Ups! Then the following week I’m working with a beautiful model I’ve never worked with before on a fashion shoot! A more street ready fashion shoot than some of the ones I’ve done in the past. I’m really looking forward to that one. And then the weekend after the winners from the Pin Up competition are coming in to the studio for their complimentary photo shoots!
Meanwhile I’m back in the chair of Artistic Director working with much of the team from “A Wish Where the Wind Once Blew”, the short film I worked on last January. This time we’re working on a new music video for Dan Mangan! Its shaping up to be a geat experience and a great video!
Keep checking back for photos and updates!

This is one of my favourites from the shoot.
